VA- C'est Chic French Girl Singers From The Sixties

Have not posted anything in awhile however anyone who has ever followed the blog will know that I am a big fan of ye-ye and the entire French pop scene of the 1960's. The incredibly catchy tunes, extremely talented singers, and sensual overtones make the 60's French music scene a personal favorite of mine. Featuring artists like Francoise Hardy and France Gall this. compilation does a great work of putting together some of the best material from some of the various female artists of this era.
I would highly recommend this album for anyone wanting an introduction into this period and style of music. As well as for anyone who just wants to have a small taste of some amazing songs from this era all compiled in one place.

Various Artists- Paris After Dark

I recently picked up this CD at a used record store and was really impressed with all the great music that it contains. Paris After Dark compiles songs from the 1920's - 1950's or the classic French chanson period of music. This is the type of music that would play in the cabaret and even brothels of the city during this time period even as the Nazi occupation of France was in full swing during the 1940's the music remained. Highly recommend this one to anyone with any interest in music from France or just from this time period in general as you will not be disappointed by this great little CD.

Paris Mon Amour - 4 CD's

Followers of this blog will know that I am a big fan of Francoise Hardy and her music. However I also very much enjoy listening to some of the other French pop artists from the 1960's and 1970's. Paris Mon Amour does a great job of compiling some great songs from various artists, everything from Francoise Hardy to France Gall and Jacques Dutronc. I highly recommend these CD's to anyone who wants an introduction into this great music from France or even someone who just wants all these great songs compiled in one place.

Francoise Hardy - All Over The World

This album features the magnificent French ye-ye artist Francoise Hardy singing in English, German, Italian, and though not on the original album I added two of her Spanish songs to this download. Francoise Hardy is without a doubt an icon of the 1960's and will always be remembered for her simple yet extremely attractive style and her soft gentle voice. Which be it in her native French or other language is always very seductive and soothing.
If you are not familiar with her or her style of music give it a chance and I promise you will not be disappointed!
